Update on polio eradication efforts in Afghanistan for August 2019

In August

  • 3 cases of wild poliovirus were reported.
  • 5.1 million children were vaccinated.
  • Permanent Transit Teams (PTTs) vaccinated 1 579 581 children, and cross-border teams vaccinated 160 046 children against polio.
