In 2023 and 2024, Guinea faced two separate polio outbreaks. This short film focuses on the response in Siguiri, a remote gold mining region that draws people from across West Africa. Overcrowded and vulnerable to health threats, the area became a priority for WHO and partners, who mounted a rapid vaccination campaign to stop the spread of the virus and protect the region.
The video is part of a global series on health topics, challenges and achievements, that featured at the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva, May 2025.
