The GPEI 2026 Action Plan is a comprehensive roadmap to streamline operations and sustain momentum toward a polio-free world, in the context of a reduced budget and changing environment for global health. Developed through extensive consultation and grounded in the latest data, it sets out how GPEI will focus activities where they will have the greatest impact, making choices that aim to minimize risk, safeguard hard-won gains, and maintain progress toward a polio-free world.
The 2026 Action Plan complements the 2022–2029 GPEI Strategy and is supported by subnational plans that provide detail on the activities to be undertaken to overcome challenges in the most difficult areas. These will be regularly reviewed to drive progress and ensure that no child is left behind.
